Nowadays, the restoration of mines has become a major issue in front of mankind. In recent years, countries all over the world are planning to develop the mining volume of natural stones and restrict the use of natural stones. People are looking for alternatives to natural stones for buildings. Polyurethane (PU), whose full name is polyurethane, was invented by Otto Bayer and others in 1937. They can be made into polyurethane plastic, polyurethane fiber, polyurethane rubber and elastomer. It is known as "the fifth largest plastic" because of its superior performance. By adjusting the composition of polyurethane and controlling the chemical reaction process, people can prepare a variety of foams. The advantage of this is to increase the hardness of stone panels, reduce the use of polyurethane, and reduce the cost. This has also caused some problems. In order to reduce the cost more, the amount of stone powder will be a lot, and the chemical polarity of polyurethane and inorganic stone powder will be very different. They cannot be well combined, so the finished plate will be easy to fracture. Some stone panels have too high foaming rate. The advantage of this is that the product is lighter and the cost is low. The problem is that the plate is easy to break, the surface hardness of the plate will also be reduced, and it is easy to have depressions that are difficult to recover after being knocked. In the process of manufacturing stone panels, most factories use metal moulds, that is, use CNC machine tools to directly carve the surface texture of natural stone on the metal mould, and then lay PVC film in the metal mould, and then inject polyurethane to form foam. This PVC film is integrated with polyurethane and becomes the surface layer of the product. The advantage of this is that the complex and cumbersome process of taking the mould from natural stone is omitted, and the mould is made very quickly. The products formed by polyurethane foam can be easily taken out of the mould. The problem is that PVC film will cover tiny texture details in the mould, so the surface of the product will lose the rich texture and texture of natural stone after moulding. This method is not suitable for making more realistic stone panels. After long-term use, with the thermal expansion and contraction caused by repeated temperature changes, and the penetration of water, the PVC surface will peel off from polyurethane, and the surface of stone panels will blister. After years of practice and exploration, RL Stone Panels adopts a unique method to prepare simulated stones. We use the carefully made silicone soft mould, which is laid inside the metal mould as a texture layer, sprayed with release agent on the silicone mould, then sprayed with special weather resistant colour paint, and then injected with polyurethane for foaming. The coating and polyurethane are firmly combined in the foaming process without layering, which also lays a foundation for the next step of spraying paint. After subsequent multi-pass surface treatment procedures, we can produce better stone panels. Its surface coating is very firm and will not fall off, and the rich texture of natural stone can be perfectly reflected. For some stone panels, before foaming, we mix the colour paste and polyurethane liquid evenly, and then conduct foaming moulding. Such a faux stone veneer has similar internal and external colours. This faux stone veneer is made of polyurethane foam, with a specific gravity of approximately 0.96. Its hardness is not high, and any prop or electric cutting tool can be used when cutting sheet metal. Firstly, based on the measured dimensions, draw cutting lines on the back of the faux stone veneer, and then use cutting tools such as paper cutters and saw blades for cutting. When cutting the sheet metal, be careful to be vertical and not forcefully break it. The tools used should not be placed on the surface of the board to avoid scratching the surface. 2. The cut section needs to be repaired. The cross-section of the faux stone veneer, based on the different polyurethane and added components, the stone is roughly light gray to light yellow, which is different from the surface color of the board. If the cross-section is exposed, it will cause color spots on the decorative walls. Generally, water-based complementary paint is used for application. Before installing stone veneer on the walls, the wall should be cleaned thoroughly. We need to clean the walls that are ready to be pasted with simulated stone, without leaving any stains or dust. The wall should be kept flat. To ensure that the board is firmly adhered to the wall, nails can be inserted after the board is pasted. 4. Stone wall veneer is generally pasted with structural adhesive or nailed. The lack of paint coating on the back of polyurethane is the essence of polyurethane, and it can have good adhesion with ordinary silicone structural adhesives on the market. The structural adhesive applied on the back of the board is generally 5-8mm. We can evenly distribute multiple adhesive points on the back of the board based on the area size of the faux stone wall panel, extrude structural adhesive, and then paste the board onto the wall. 5. The edges of the faux stone are neat right angles. Two pieces of board are spliced together, with a gap of approximately 2mm in the middle. Such gaps do not require pointing treatment. Moreover, it is difficult for us to mix the color of the pointing agent that matches the color of the board. 6. The paving of faux stone walls should follow certain principles, such as from top to bottom, from edge to wall, and from outside to inside. This is done so that the boards can be arranged in an orderly manner on the wall, and irregular parts, parts that need to be cut, and imbalances caused by wall unevenness or inaccurate measurements can be left to be processed or hidden at the end.
